After the charity was nominated and subsequently gaining most votes from the employees, we conducted a site and needs assessment visit. It was during that exercise that we learnt a lot about the Trust. I was founded by the late Gogo Gunduza, working closely with her daughter Lucy who is now running with her mother’s vision. The Trust started after gogo Gunduza took into her home a malnourished toddler who was being taken care of by his 9-year-old sister after the mother passed on. Since then, she has given home to children dumped and abandoned by their mothers, who come to her through the social welfare department. She has also provided a safe-house to victims of emotional and sexual abuse. Currently Lucy is taking care of 17 children, ranging between 5 years and 19 years, in her ordinary 3-bedroom house in the high-density suburb of Warren Park.” st_subtitle_decoration=”” st_separator_enable=”separator_off” st_text_align=”text-left” st_width=”st_fullwidth” css_animation=”kd-animated fadeIn” css_animation_delay=”200″ css=”.vc_custom_1605167952352{padding-right: 20px !important;}”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_single_image image=”11048″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”fadeIn” css=”.vc_custom_1605167470105{padding-right: 20px !important;}”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1541584821670{padding-left: 20px !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”11047″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”fadeIn” css=”.vc_custom_1605167350716{padding-left: 20px !important;}”][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][tek_sectiontitle st_title_tag=”” st_subtitle=”At the time of the visit the food situation was dire, thus our intervention was in food provision. For the past 4 months we have been providing the centre with basic groceries on a monthly basis. This intervention has removed a huge burden off Lucy’s shoulders. The Trust has no reliable source of income- they heavily rely on well-wishers. Lucy herself is an informal trader. The COVID19 pandemic brought all informal trading activities to a halt. She was left with absolutely no other source of income. Recently we took the groceries to the centre with Panashe, one of our employees working with Deca Dental. Lucy could not hide her joy and appreciation for the goodies that we had brought for the children. Besides the food stuffs we also had good second-hand clothes for the children contributed by our office staff. Lucy said “God is using people like Zimworx to reach out to the fatherless and the motherless”. She pronounced a blessing on all Zimworx staff. This exercise had a positive impact on Panashe. She later on said “we take the simple things in life for granted. Having seen the impact we have as a company on this wonderful family, I am proud to be part of the family that is willing to help others”. As we intensify our efforts to make lasting impact in people’s lives we are now exploring other levels of intervention for sustainable transformation at the centre.” st_subtitle_decoration=”” st_separator_enable=”separator_off” st_text_align=”text-left” st_width=”st_fullwidth” css_animation=”kd-animated fadeIn” css_animation_delay=”200″ css=”.vc_custom_1605167975858{padding-left: 20px !important;}”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][tek_sectiontitle st_title=”Gallery” st_title_tag=”” st_subtitle_decoration=”” st_separator_enable=”separator_off” st_text_align=”text-center” st_width=”st_fullwidth”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row_content”][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”11049″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”11051″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”11050″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
